"Your form shall betray your beast-like heart until you marry true love!" cursed the angry enchantress, and her power was strong.
But the story did not end with the first Beauty. She fell in love gracefully, sacrificially, and courageously, but along with his former face, Beast also regained his preferred lifestyle and became the life of the party once again, especially among the women.
He found his eventual expulsion from fairyland for dishonoring the family name came with more chances to lure brides. Born of the long-lived royal line, he remained unchanged as each Beauty faded and died, returning him to the form of a beast. Thus, he became practiced at setting lures for his unwitting and kindhearted prey, often using the falling petals of enchanted roses to hurry the process.
So, today, the age-old story continues and another Beauty's heart is broken as she looks into the enchanted mirror and says,...
"Mirror, show me my Beast."

Artist's Thoughts:
Well, what do we expect? Human love isn't what alters people. Change comes from further in. Women can't change men. Men can't change women. All we can do is influence each other toward better (or worse) lives.
